The largest working windmill in Ireland

Blennerville Windmill on the shores of Tralee Bay was restored to full working order in the 1980s and is the largest working windmill in Ireland. It was also the main port of emigration to North America during the Great Famine.

Learn the area’s history, see the audio-visual exhibition on emigration and the Jeanie Johnston, and take a guided tour of the Windmill. Visit the Kerry Model Railway Exhibition.

Watch herons, egrets and more from the bird-watching platform overlooking “Slí na nÉan” – “The Way of the Birds”. It is recommended to book in advance.
