Castlecomer Discovery Park is set on 80 acres of stunning woodland and lakes in Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny. It offers a range of adventure activities including tree top walks, Ireland’s longest zip wire, world-class high ropes courses, climbing walls, boating, archery, adventure playgrounds, kayaking, woodland café and orienteering. At the hub of the site, there is the Irish Mining Museum, a purpose-built cafe, a craft village and spaces for educational activities.

Weekends: 10am-5pm (May-August) and 10.30am-4pm (September-April).
Last admission to the Coal Mining Exhibition starts 1 hour before closing time.

Useful Information

The 80 acre park with 4 nationally approved walks and playgrounds is open daily. Adventure activities have scheduled opening times. The Irish Mining Museum is open every day.

Getting There

Located immediately outside the town of Castlecomer on the Dublin side of the N78, approx. 25 min. drive from Kilkenny city and 70 mins. from Newlands Cross flyover.

Easily accessible from the M9 and M7 motorways.
