A convenient and pleasant way to travel

Established in 1993, Cross River Ferries is operated and owned by the Doyle Shipping Group.

Two ferries, the “Glenbrook” and the “Carrigaloe”, service the River Lee connecting the communities on both sides of the harbour. Glenbrook Passage West Pier is situated east of Cork city and Carrigaloe Rushbrooke Pier in Cobh is 20km outside the city.

The scenic crossing from Glenbrook to Carrigaloe takes 5 minutes and is a convenient and pleasant way to save time and fuel and avoid traffic congestion.

Useful Information

The service operates non-stop crossings, 6:30am – 9:30pm daily. The average crossing time is 5 minutes.

Getting There

Glenbrook Passage West Pier is situated east of Cork City, facing Cork Harbour.
If you are travelling from the East, take the R624. Leave the N25 at junction 3, then at roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Barryscourt Industrial Estate – R624 (signposted Cobh). Continue forward onto the R624. Entering Carrigaloe, turn right (signposted Ferry Entrance). Finish on unnamed road.

Carrigaloe Rushbrooke Pier in Cobh is located 20km outside Cork City.
If you are travelling from the West, take the N40 continuing forward onto South Ring Road. Leave the N40 at junction 8, then turn right onto Douglas Road – R610 (signposted Douglas). At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the R610. At roundabout take the 1st exit onto Rochestown Road. At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Rochestown Road (signposted Passage West, Rochestown). Continue forward onto Rochestown Road – Entering Rochestown. At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Cork Road. Continue forward onto Cork Road. Entering Passage West – Continue forward onto Somerville Terrace. Entering Glenbrook. Finish on Charlotte Terrace.
