Step back in time when you visit Jeremiah Higgins; Ireland’s Oldest Shop®. What started in 1820 as a producer and purveyor of leather goods, soon became a tailor’s, draper’s and even a general goods store. This living history is continued today by the sixth generation of the Higgins family who make it their mission to preserve their family legacy. Historic documents are on display alongside original antiques. Family photos are hung over aged glass-clad countertops. The “Gentleman’s Dressing Mirror”, reflecting tales of past and present stands upon centuries-old floorboards; whose creaks tell stories of their own. Now the shop stands as it was in the past and sells an eclectic mix of Irish goods, quirky gifts and unusual items.
