Local producers and traders have been selling fresh, natural foods and other produce here, since 1852. Regular markets operate Fridays to Sundays and there are occasional special interest markets from crafts and fashion to gardening and antiques. Speciality shops in and around the market open other days.
The Saturday market is famous. Here you’ll discover great cheeses and chutneys, just-caught fish and artisan meats, organic fruit & vegetables, delicious healthy breads, raw milk and fresh pressed juices.
The Friday ‘City Market’ features fresh and natural food produce, flowers & shrubs, crafts and more. Sunday is a family-orientated market with fine foods, arts, crafts, fashion, jewellery, antiques, bric-a-brac and curiosities. There is usually lots of kid’s activities and entertainment.
Snacks from gourmet sandwiches and pastries to soups and coffees are available at all markets.
